Operation Choke Point: In the News Again

Politico.com reports:

$3-5 MILLION CAMPAIGN TO COMBAT ‘OPERATION CHOKE POINT’

“The United States Consumer Coalition (USCC) is preparing to launch a $3- 5 million campaign to fight the Obama administration’s “Operation Choke Point,” a joint Justice Department, FDIC, and Treasury initiative that targets third-party payment processors who are considered “high-risk merchants,” including payday lenders.”

“The coalition’s campaign will include more than $1 million in paid advertising, as well as grassroots mobilization and lobbying, and is being funded through donations from corporate and individual donors concerned about consumer choice and freedom.”

“National ads will target Attorney General Eric Holder and the 13 Democrats who signed a letter in support of the operation, said a source familiar with the ad buy. According to the USCC, those targeted by “Operation Choke Point” include firearms and ammo dealers, home-based charities, porn stars and payday lenders.”
